Colon Street considered the oldest street in the

country

named after Cristobal Colon (Christopher Colombus)

traces its origins to the town plan by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi (1565)

before the 90’s, the street was the center of Cebu City’s economic activities before the opening of large malls around the city

is known to be a site of fashionable shops, offices and movie houses

Nowadays, Colon is associated morewith events, crimes, pollution andfood rather than its history.
