Whether it’s via smartphone or tablet, through push messages or texts from friends or the tons of marketing clutter that companies throw at you just to get Facebook likes, the information overflow is on-going.

Being connected 24/7, means you incessantly see the whole world flash by. Yet real focus and real, offline contact or in-depth research is hard to achieve in a world of non-stop connectivity. Young people’s reaction to this is fairly facile though. In managing this endless influx of info, they take time to consciously slow down, interact with one another in real-time and to ponder on life.

This desire for a real, tangible, offline world (in which youngsters can actually use all their five senses), is a trend we previously described in last year’s report. Since then, this aspiration for the real has only increased.
