20% of India’s GDP
• Attracted maximum foreign inflows of Rs. 10,00,000 Cr. leading
in country’s FDI investment during 2013-14
• Third highest urbanized State with over 45.23% urban population
• Has 4 International and 16 domestic airports (all 4 international
and 5 domestic commercially operational)
• 3 new large international airports to be constructed – Nagpur,
Pune and Navi Mumbai

Overview
• MIHAN - Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur
• Project Area – about 4187 ha.
• Project Cost - $1.2 billion
• Existing Employment generated: 7378
• Investment envisaged approx. US $ 2 billion in 5 Years
• Total employment envisaged on completion – direct 150,000 & indirect 300,000
• Project consists of three parts:
Airport
• Expansion/up-gradation of existing airport as International Passenger & cargo hub
SEZ
• Development of multi-product SEZ abutting the airport

• Terminal building of 25,000 m2
• 2 aerobridges

• Airport project area – about 1468 Ha.
• Two Parallel runways of 4000 m x 60 m & 3600 m x 60 m
• Separate international and domestic passenger & cargo terminals
• Parking facility for 50 aircrafts in the Terminal & 50 aircrafts remote
• Provision for maintenance hangers & workshops
