MISSION STATEMENT

The Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition (BVIPC) is

a Safe Communities coalition to implement and

support health initiatives designed to reduce traffic-

related injuries and fatalities in the Brazos Valley.

HARD HATS FOR LITTLE HEADS

For the eighth year in a row BVIPC has partnered with

Texas ENT to help distribute 3,500 bike helmets to

surrounding area 2nd graders.

RED (REALITY EDUCATION FOR DRIVERS)

RED: A one day, hospital-based injury prevention tool targeted at young drivers.

Partners: Local hospitals, municipal and teen court

Two for One: On time served for community service

Emphasizes the 5 main risk factors for young drivers.

Impaired, Distracted and Drowsy Driving

Speeding, and Lack of Seat Belt Use

Please Be Seated is aimed at getting the attention of

parents who are not restraining their children in their

vehicles. PBS postcards are available at the

Department of Public Safety, libraries, pediatrician

offices, courthouses, and local law enforcement

offices.

FAMILY FUN FEST A family resource fair with exhibitors in the fields of safety, sports, kids

clubs, libraries, the humane society, etc. for parents and caregivers.

Each adult attendee are given a card upon registration, they are validated
