• Native of Galax, VA; played at University of Tennessee

• Head Coach Georgia Tech 1945-1966• During 22 years - 165-64-8 record• 1952 - Tech won national

championship• 1988 - Tech renamed football facility

as Bobby Dodd Stadium at historic Grant Field

• 1993 - inducted into College Football Hall of Fame - only one of three inductees as a player and coach

• Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award – established in 1976

• Key principles are Scholarship, Leadership and Integrity

• Winning coach receives $10,000 for his favorite charity
