Production • The production of beer has main steps, stages:

1. Conversion (from barley to malt)

2. Extraction (cracking and mashing malt to get sugar out)

3. Flavouring (hops into copper)

4. Fermenting (yeast time)

5. Conditioning (CO2 clarifies)

The main types of beer :

• Lager is a light, pale-yellow coloured drink, The most popular type, it is carbonated (sparkling), usually with low alcohol content.

Ale (bitter)A type of full-bodied beer fermented quickly,

with a sweet and fruity character. Very typical in the UK,

less sparkling.

Stout (dark ale)

• The world famous, well-known „dark” comes from Ireland, with a coffee-chocolate character.
