Star Feeds Ltd.

Nepal

Project Head- Gaurav

BiOWiSH Odor Project

Introduction

• Star feeds Ltd. situated in Bhadarpur

Jhapa, Nepal which is near to Siliguri

(West Bengal).

• Mr. Santosh Gupta is the MD of Star feed

Ltd.

• They are manufacturer of Poultry Feed.

• Total average capacity of plant is 40 tpd

(ton per day).

• Plant generally runs 12 hrs in a day due to

power cut.

Raw Material Used in Process:-

• Maze

• MBM (Mixed Bone Meal)

• Bran

• Khali

• Soya

Odor Issue

• MBM is the source of odor

• The Odor generates at stacking area

where MBM stack in Plastic Bags and

also the outlet of Cyclone.

Process Units

• Hammer Mill

• Mixing Mill

• Cooking section

• Pellet Section

• Cooling Section

Process Units

• All raw materials puts into the chamber

in which through conveyor it goes to

hammer mill.

Hammer Mill

• Hammer Mill crush all materials and

then transfer it to the mixing mill.

Mixing Mill

In Mixing Mill some medicines and enzymes are mixed with feed

for birds they are as follows:

1. Toxin Binder

2. Cozuril

3. Sodium Bicarbonate

4. Staquinol Plus

5. Phytase

6. Xylanase

7. Trace Mineral Mixture

8. Biocoline

9. Lysine

10.Methionine

11.Vitamins

12.Salt

13.Di Calcium Phosphate

Cooking Mill

• In cooking Mill feed cooks at 80 degree.

• After that it goes to pellet chamber.

Pellet Section

• Here Feed Converts into pellet form.

Cooling Section

• In Cooling Section feed cools from 80 to

60 degree.

Cooling Section

• It is a very important section odor

generates from this section.

• The main point is that it is not having any

compressor or blower for cooling.

• It is just like exhaust fan who lifts the hot

air of cooking section and send it to the

outer environment.

• There is a one fan in this cooling system

acts as a exhaust fan.

Air Section

• After pallet formation the fan lifts the air

from this section and send it to the

cyclone.

• Cyclone is used because Fan of cooling

system also lifts some product, and due to

this cyclone the product material again

comes into the mixer mill.

• So cyclone recovers the product and air

goes into the environment.

Air Section Fig 1 Fig 2

Fig 3

Air Section

• In fig 1 there is a cooling section one pipe of 16

inch attached to the upper part of that section

and a fan which is attached to this pipe is at third

floor of plant.

• Air and dust picked by this pipe line and send it

to the cyclone.

• In fig 2 cyclone attached with the fan who lifts air

and dust.

• Due to cyclone dust or product part again goes

into system and air goes to outer

environment(fig 3)

Temperature of Air

• At Outlet of cooler temperature remains 63

degree celcius.

• After cyclone temp was 60 ̊ c (Mention in

previous diagram).

Demo of BiOWiSH Odor

• First day 5000 ppm concentration of BiOWiSH odor

used for spraying.

• Dissolved 500 grm odor in 100 Ltr water.

• After 30 Min of Activation, filtered the solution and

filled it in spray pump for spraying.

Demo of BiOWiSH Odor

BiOWiSH odor sprayed at two different sites

of MBM.

• Grounded 120 kg MBM in a isolated room.

• Bags of MBM stocked.

Results of BiOWiSH odor

• After two days of dosing Results are very

good.

• Odour removed for long time.
