WHERE IS IT?

It’s located in the city hall

Pivka, Slovenia.

WHAT TYPE OF LAKE IS IT? IT’S AN INTERMITTENT LAKE: it’s full of water for 6 months every year (Apr.-Oct.),

5-7 m deep, 1 km long and 0,5 km wide. ONE WEEK

LIFE: There are no fish in this lake, but there are 13 different species of

non-vertebrates, that can survive the dry period of the year as eggs and when the water fills the lake again, they physically appear and the circle of life continous.

When there is no water, the bottom is covered by grass.

It’s not good for farming, so people use it to grow wheat.

saw and fed the horses, saw beehives, tadpoles in a small pond ...
