• Brent Stephensen was a famous man that managed to rediscover the New Zealand storm petrel on 25, Janurary 2003.

WHY WAS THIS BIRD UNIDENTIFIED AT THE TIME?

• The New Zealand storm petrel was unidentified because it was believed to be extinct at the time.

WHY ARE STORM PETRELS CALLED THAT?

• They are called that because they go across vast, stormy oceans.

WHY WAS A UNIDENTIFIED BIRD A EXITING DISCOVERY?

• Because then, not only did you save a (almost) extinct species, you are also helping us discover answers to some questions we are asking.
