Sleep - Texas

Sleep was a number 6 song by the band Texas. It was released in 2006 and the music video was directed and starred by comedian Peter Kay. In the video there is a performance, in which Kay is character Marc Park, and is performing with Texas in a social club. Also there is a narrative of Kay’s character and lead singer of Texas, Sharleen Spiteri, having a love relationship, however this is shown through spoofs of other music videos and films. At the end of the video Marc Park is shown to be a parking warden asleep and it was actually all a dream.

Sleep - Hello

Here you see Spiteri turning round a clay head of Kay’s character, similar to the famous video of Lionel Richie’s song Hello

Sleep - Ghost

Here you see them creating the famous clay scene from the hit movie Ghost.

Sleep – An Officer and a Gentleman

In this scene they spoof the ending of Richard Gere’s 1982 film an Officer and a Gentleman. However due to comedic purposes they switch the roles round.

Sleep – Peter Kay

The character Kay plays in the video is Marc Park. This character was in That Peter Kay thing, one of Kay’s first shows. In the show Park is an aspiring pop star who wins Talent Trek, then goes solo. The social club Sleep is set in is also in That Peter Kay Thing. It is Neptune Club, later to be renamed The Phoenix Club for hit TV show Phoenix Nights.
