Even though I knew I wanted to concentrate on clothing and shops I thought it would be a good idea to start this project by looking at all things vintage. I looked at old letters/postcards, clothes and even an old passport! (Theses images are copies of the original item)

What is VINTAGE?

Definitions: -old fashioned-obsolete-Retro

The option to chose Nottingham Loves…Vintage started with my interest in fashion and vintage clothing. I am aware of vintage shops in Nottingham and often shop in myself.

The type of vintage differs depending on the time. Vintage is anything from the 1920s to 20years from the present day. Meaning you could actually question what is vintage? Anything from black and white/sepia to todays vintage colours, florals and patterns

Map of Nottingham

Using red stickers I have shows a variety of vintage shops in Nottingham city Centre. I have done this as I aim to create a map, however instead of red markings I will use items of vintage clothing showing you where you may find this shop.

Prototype

Using a simple map of Nottingham and a item of clothing I am able to show you a quick mock up of what I have in mind. (In the final design there will be arrows and addresses)

Postcards

I STARTED LOOKING AT POSTCARDS OF NOTTINGHAM AS I HAVE CONCIDERED TRANFERING THE MAP ONTO ONE, HOWEVER I AM UNSURE AT THAT THE MOMENT.

A possible idea would to create a postcard which then opens up into a map showing you where you may find the shops you are after-vintage only

I have been experimenting with different colours and texture I would consider the map to be. I don’t want the vintage theme to stop at shops and clothes I want the vintage look to included the map, e.g. the colour and possibly the quality of paper.
