What is intertextuality?

The idea that media is formed and shaped by media that has come before.

It gives the idea that nothing is original, as it is like media that has come before it.

On the following page there is an example of this.

Pastiche A dictionary definitionAn imitation of a narrative or film genre. Similar to a parody, but more gentle and respectful to the original.

What is Pastiche?

Not unlike intertextuality, it is a ‘copy’ of earlier media.
