• Fox is manly an information and entertainment channel.• Founded 9 of october of 1986 in the United States of America by Rupert

Murdoch and Barry Diller• It is currently broadcasting in several parts of the world, like Brazil, Australia,

Japan, Italy, Servia, South Korea, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and South America.

• Is an entertainment channel that broadcast various shows and movies of several genres like comedy, drama, suspense, crime and science fiction.

• Brought to Portugal by the Fox International channel in 2003.

• It is now currently present in all of Portuguese television providers.

• The high definition channel was launched on 31 of July in 2009.

• The slogan is “I Love Fox”

• The current broadcasted channels in Portugal are:

TELEVISION INFLUENCE

• Television influence people• The media have so much influence trough television, that they can make

you think in the way they want. Ex:

If the television wants to make us a believe a certain person is guilt of something, they will look everywhere to find small evidences that make him indeed guilty, even if he is not

HISTORY OF PORTUGUESE TELEVISION

• Television in Portugal appeared in 1957.• Television was viewed mainly by the majority of the people in public places,

because only the higher classes had the privilege of having one.• 4 of September of 1956 the “Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP)” did his first

experimental broadcast.• At the early ages, television broadcast, were heavily controlled by the

imposed censorship of the new estate.• In 25 of April of 1974 the fall of dictatorship generated a bigger freedom of

the content broadcasted on televisions.• The current open broadcast channels on Portugal are RTP1, RTP2, SIC, TVI

and ARTV.

• The “Sociedade Independente de Comunicação (SIC)” started broadcasting in 6 of october of 1992 as a general content channel

CONCLUSION

We liked doing this research, cause with it, we were able to learn more about Fox and theyr group of channel, and as well a bit of the history of television in Portugal
