A brief history
April 2007The dream came true – the state-of-the-art 150-seat theatre opened
1999 – 2007 This nomadic community acting group held 23 productions at venues around the region
October 1999Barefoot in the Park was staged in a tent at Hersheypark
May 25, 1999IRS granted Hershey Area Playhouse 501(c)(3) status
January 1999 Small group of people braved an ice storm to meet at the Hershey Library

Educating the community
•The Theatre Academy taught more than 100 Hershey area residents, providing over 1,500 hours of instruction in 2009
