Dale Chihuly

• Dale was born September 20, 1941 in Tacoma, Washington, United States.

Chihuly’s inspiration

• Chihuly's work is a story of his life. His fascination with abstract nature forms comes from his mother's garden in Tacoma, Washington. His love for the ocean and its creatures is also reflected in his art.

Chihuly’s family

• Chihuly graduated from high school in Tacoma. Support from his mother, after his brother George's death in a flight-training accident in Florida and his father's death of a heart attack, he signed up at the College of the Puget Sound in 1959.

His Style

• Dale was an American glass sculptor.

• Dale’s medium is glass.

About Chihuly’s work

Over the past forty years, Chihuly’s glass sculptures are based on color,

design, and assemblage. Although his work has a variety in size and color, he

is best known for his multipart big masterpieces.

Inside Out 2000

• Dale Chihuly's Inside Out 2000, is a part of the permanent collection of the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, Nebraska.

Why I like Dale Chihuly

• I like Dale Chihuly because i like glass blowing and I think it is unique. It is really cool when Dale Chihuly does it because of the unique shaping of the objects he glass blows.
