It was during his early years in college that he became one of the founding members of Theatre Action Group (TAG) in Delhi, under the artistic direction of Barry John, which became highly regarded for innovative and experimental theatre productions.He began his career in television in 1977 by directing documentaries for television. Frequent attacks of rheumatism caused him to abandon the game after the 1863 season at the early age of 37. He started/launched something in 1864 for which we know him today as well.
