Ermolao Antonio Paoletti (Venice, May 8, 1834-Venice, 13 December 1912) was a painter Italianno, painter, considered one of the brightest macchiaioli Venetian painters.He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice together with the sculptor Antonio Dal Zotto and the painter Edgar Chahine. His paintings often recall moments of Venetian life. With simplicity and attention to detail, Paoletti likes to portray the city's commercial activities, with constant presence of children.Among the many frescoes by the painter in Veneto stands the main altar of the parish of Melara, performed in 1863, in which are depicted Sant 'Antonio, San Maternal and laMadonna of the Rosary with the baby.His paintings have been the subject of a considerable appreciation from critics.In the chancel of the church of St. Lazarus, the Venetian island dedicated to the saint, as well as home of the order Mekhitarist, stand two wooden kiosks with two paintings by Ermolao Paoletti, depicting St. John the Baptist and St. Stephen the first martyr.
