Introduction It is latest construction

technology which save time and money resulting in easy execution of the project in busy urban areas without disturbing the existing traffic pattern.

Sky bus technology launched 15th at 2003 at madgaon ,goa .

Discovery it is developed by

Mr. B. Rajaram. Sky bus metro

concept first presented in bologna university italy ,by him in 1989.

It offered by konkan railway.

Description Heavy 52l60 kglm rails placed

at standard gauge floating in elastic medium and damped by interia of measured mass held in a 8m*2m box enclosure, supported over a 1m dia.column spaced at 15m and located at 15m distance from each other.

Capacity Can carry 18000pphpd-

72000pphpd.

Can shift 20ft containers for corner to corner.

Working principle Standard railway coach running

on railway track. The under frame with standard

railway wheel set running on railway track.

The railway wheels remains same ,they on same track ,the coach is firmly attached.

Sky way It consists of

concrete box structure carried over a series of piers at a height of 8-10m above existing road level.

Two rails fixed with fastening within the concrete box support and guide the sky bogie .

Sky bogies Standard two axle bogies. Speed of 100 kmph (max

160kmph). Linear induction motor-to be

driven. Disc &emergency brakes.

Why sky bus saves 50% to 75%

Convential railway provides for heavy steel coaches to protect people .

So carry more steel and dead weight instead of people .

With total weight of 48t ,a railway can carry only 70 persons in 20 m length.

Sky bus has no such problem .no derailment hence uses very light weight coaches and carries more people using less dead weight .

Sky bus with the same weight &length carries 300 persons comfortably.

Future scope For overpopulated cities ,it is

safer. Inexpensive mass public

transportation . Sky bus is an improved railway

technology ,eliminates the problem of city suffering from heavy traffic.
