Objective of our project

The main aim of our project is to build a hydraulic robotic arm that can cut an object using a cutter.

Movement and controlling of hydraulic robotic arms.

INTRODUCTION

In this model we are using hydraulic robotic arm and cutter.

This model works on the principle of hydraulic press. The cutter is operated by motor and for power supply

we are using battery. The motion of cutter, arm(circular motion) and

vehicle is controlled by the DPDT switches.

Pascal’s law the basis of hydraulic drive systems. As the pressure in the system is the same, the force that the fluid gives to the surroundings is therefore equal to pressure area. In such a way, a small piston feels a small force and a large piston feels a large force.

A change in pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid at rest is transmitted undiminished to all points in the fluid

PRINCIPLE

A hydraulic drive system is a drive or transmission system that uses pressurized hydraulic fluid to power hydraulic machinery. The term hydrostatic refers to the transfer of energy from flow and pressure, not from the kinetic energy of the flow.

A hydraulic drive system consists of three parts: The generator (e.g. a hydraulic pump), driven by an electric motor, and the actuator (e.g. a hydraulic motor or hydraulic cylinder) to drive the machinery

REQUIREMENTS

The power for a robotic arm can either be electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic.

Hydraulics is putting liquids under pressure

Pneumatics is putting gases under pressure.

The power supply acts like the robot's heart and muscles. It provides the energy for pushing, pulling, turning and lifting.

ROBOT POWER

The hydraulic cutting machine that can cut things in industrial purpose.

These machines are used in construction work of mega factories to cut the various parts of product and also to paint vehicles.

They are also used in earth movers to remove and cut heavy weight.

Same principle is being used in JCB’s , automobiles, lifters.

APPLICATIONS

When pressing on the syringe system, be sure to press only the input plunger with your thumb and hold the output syringe with your other hand to prevent the syringe from separation.

Do not use syringe as a “squirt gun”.Wear safety glasses.Follow all normal laboratory rules.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

AdvantagesThe Hydraulic robotic Cutting Machine used can

have many industrial and general uses. When used in a locomotive format can be of great

use in the every applications. The simplicity and easy to repair design makes it

really cheap. The fluid used in Hydraulic robotic Cutting

Machine is economic.

Disadvantages:

The input here is mechanical.Use of electrical circuits can make it much

simpler to operate and have a better control over it which is difficult in purely mechanical design.

If more time and more efforts would have been put into the model, more complexity could have been brought out.

Moreover instead of manual operation of syringes could have been replaced by pre-defined computer program or merely by pressing switch operated.

Further more varieties and more flexibility to add or replace any part according to the requirements can be done to improve its use and increase field of usage and to make it more universal or flexible.

FUTURE SCOPE

The prepared mechanism has been successfully constrained and executed to cutting different materials according to need. For Ex.- trees in construction work etc.
