The object under study – YABLUNIV OIL FIELD

Research work purpose – choosing the best Enhanced oil recovery method for production of residual oil from the reservoir. The best method is the method that meets the reservoir criteria and which is economically viable.

Administratively Yabluniv oil and gas deposit is located within Lokhvitsky Poltava region.

YABLUNIV WORK REGION

4

Crude oil and natural gas is gathered at GOSP Yabluniv and transported to nearest refinery by spread pipeline system.

5

Yabluniv field in respect of tectonic activity is located in the northwestern part of the Dnieper-Donets depression between the southern and borders

areas.

• Compared with conventional oil, Yabluniv field is a heavy oil reservoirs, Heavy oil has reduced mobility; it is termed as heavy oil because it has higher specific gravity and density along with viscosity when compared with the conventional oil.

• The viscosity is between 100cP or greater and API gravity less than 20. API gravity is the specific gravity scale developed by American petroleum institute to measure the relative density of various petroleum liquids, expressed in degrees. The lower the API number, the heavier the oil and the higher its specific gravity

• Yabluniv oil field was developed at middle of 80-th last century and pass primary production with increasing the net thickness of drilling wells, secondary production with pressure maintenance.

• Up to 2010 oil field come into the final stage of development, so some additional tertiary methods must be apply to increase the oil recovery

• According to the production log, horizon B-6 is represented by sandstones small and medium, siltstones. The maximum thickness of the horizon is 81.4 m. • Effective oil saturated thickness varies from 10 m to 38.5 meters, porosity ratio is 8-21%. Oil saturation rate is of 65-89%. St. 337 IIB has a depth of 3654 m.

Measured parameters of the studied well

• Oil from Mountains. B-6 IIB, taken away from St. 337, belongs to the second type as Heavy, with a density of 980 kg / m3 at reservoir conditions. API gravity of 12.9°, which means the oil product from this reservoir, is a heavy type of hydrocarbon.

• The content of chloride salts is 563.2 mg /l water - 1% wt. In the fractional part to a fraction of the initial boiling point 57°C to 300 °C, 51%.

13

• The content of resin is 30% wt. This type of crude can be classified as heavy oil and resinous. The oil composition estimated at different sampling conditions (put here in presentation table 6.1) represented at the next slide (put as slide 14 the table 6.2).

Data needed for calculation of proven reserve and at the next table and calculated as difference between the initial reserves estimated by volumetric method and total oil production.

CONCLUSION

After the study and calculations of the two methods. The most effective method between the thermal recovery process and the

gas process is the thermal recovery method. It demonstrated higher oil extraction with better economic viability and reduced

set backs and allowed an additional 653.52 tons of oil per month, compared with 66.52 tons of oil with a gas method.
