William BlakeWilliam Blake was born in November of 1757 and died in August 1827. His poetry started to become more popular after his death.His poetry and art was much more appreciated after his death,, and is still admired today.The poems that will be analyzed are “Spring” and “Laughing Song” both are products of the “Songs of Innocence” collection.

William Blake has multiple collections, but the collection that will be dealt with is the “Songs of Innocence” collection. This is a book full of poems including “Spring” and “Laughing Song.”

“Spring”By: William Blake

“Spring” is a love story, about a little boy and girl, and it is about the year, spring is symbolic of new life, new life the two have found together.

The rhyme scheme to “Spring” is AABBCCDDE. The poem is written where every line, except for the last in each stanza have three syllables.

Laughing Song

“Laughing Song” is song that is symbolic of children's innocence it can be sang out loud, as a pick me up to remind them of the innocence of childhood.

The rhyme scheme of “Laughing Song” is ABCC/AABB/ABCC in the three stanzas. The poem has alliteration such as “…laugh with lively green…” and “…sing the sweet chorus…”
