The internet is a fire hydrant of information: TONS of information is coming at you, from every direction.

HOW DO YOU SORT THROUGH IT ALL?

Your book defines information literacy as:“The ability to use information tools and information

sources to address and answer problems.”

The book goes on to say:An information literate person has the “ability to locate,

evaluate, and use information effectively.”

How many of you would like to learn how to be able to find the answer to any question or any topic out there?

Hopefully all of you! And that’s what we’re going to be learning in this course.

NEXT WEEKOn Monday, January 9, we meet in class. You have two options to attend: 3:30 or 5:30

In class we will:- Do introductions- Discuss the final project- Discuss your topic ideas- Do a learning activity on the LRC website. Remember that if you miss in-class learning activities, these CANNOT be made up.
