• In Belgium there are 4 ports : Antwerpen, Gent, Zeebrugge and Oostende.

• There are 5 appointed head ports and 32 main ports in Norway. There are 600 state regulated fishing ports and thousands of smaller local harbors and ports all along the coast.

No, there is not much river transport in Norway.

There are several numbers for the Norwegian coastline. One number of the mainland coastline is approximately 25,000 km, but a newer measure, which also includes the coastline of smaller islands and islets along the coast, makes the coastline of Norway to 100,915 km, which is 2 ½ times around the globe and second in the world after Canada

The Portuguese coast is extensive: it has 943km in Portugal mainland, 667km in the Azores , 250km in Madeira

In Belgium are sea roadside dunes,Oostende and Dune valley with lime.

The Portuguese coast alternate between rough cliffs and fine sand beaches.

In Norway we have sand beaches, and stone, rock and cliff seashores.

In Portugal there are more than 500 km along 900 km with sand and dunes.

There are also dunes in Belgium and Norway

In Norway there are all together 212 lighthouses, now 107

lighthouses are in use.

In the reign of D. José, in 1758, began the program signalling the Portuguese coast.There are 48 lighthouses.

There are bunkers in Belgium.

Yes, Bergen was a Hanseatic port. There are still buildings and remains of the Hansa period

in Bergen.

The Hanseatic cities of XVII was a group of influential merchants from a number of cities in Flanders, Hainault, Brabant and Artois in the early 13th century took the

form of an association of 17 cities.Later added eight cities to this covenant. This Hanseatic trade mourned at the fairs of Champagne and promoted the export of cloth. The fairs of Champagne were of

great importance for trade with Italy. When the fairs in Champagne at the end of the 13th century meaning replace, also

lost the Hanseatic cities XVII of its meaning

Hansa’s tasks in Norway were of commercial interest, especially the

export of dried fish. Bergen was the main port along the

coast, to and from which imported and exported goods were transported.

Have you had in your history a famous person who fought for the

independence of your country and was in any way connected

with water ?

Norway Yes, one famous person is Max Manus. He fought in the home front during WWII and was responsible of the blowing up the German transportation ship Donau.
