Special Effects
•Steve Riley was the special effects supervisor; also well known for his special effects in:•Ante Dugandzic along with Ryan A. Riley
were the special effects foremen for the film.•One of their main special effects used was

•The film was based on Kyle’s best-selling autobiography which got published in 2012. supposedly people who had read the book would want to go and watch the film as well. • In 2013 Kyle was killed at a Texasgun range at the age of 38. This sudden death would have made people want to go and watch the story of his life just out of humannature.

•$43.8 million spent on 747 national airings across45 networks, led by MTV and Ovation’•American Sniper came out with two official trailers but also had featurettes uploaded to YouTube.

Pre-sold Elements • Firstly know as the Caped Crusader,
created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, in 1939.
• Batman has either been the main star, or part of a group of superheroes, in around 29 movies before The Dark Knight Rises was released.
• Batman also had action figures, costumes, Lego, and video games made based on him.
Internet Marketing • Posters were placed on the sides of busses,
huge bulletins were placed on building and in tube stations posters were put along the walls. The intention was to draw attention to those who were out and about.
• Advertisements were put on TV so bring awareness to people in their homes.• Some of the biggest
magazines had multiple different covers advertising the release of the film.
Internet Marketing
• Four official trailers were put onto YouTube by Warner Bros. Pictures.
• An audio video was released a year before the film was to be released on the website TheDarkKnightRises.com, when it went live. All the website consisted of was a black screen and a crowd cheering in the background.
• Pages were set up on social media websites such as Twitter and Facebook, to spread the word of the movies to the 1.35 billion using Facebook and 284 million Twitter users.
Cinema and Home Releasing
• Along with being released in normal cinemas the film was also released in IMAX.
• The film was released on DVD on the 4th
December 2012 in the United States.• It is also available to get on amazon, iTunes,
Redbox and Netflix for those who didn’t see it in the theatre.
• Special features that were included on the BluRay and DVD’s were that Warner Bros packaged the film with a limited edition Bat Cowl.
Cinema and Home Releasing
• The special features included a documentray about the history of the batmobile, and featurette called, ‘The Journey of Bruce Wayne’.
• Main feature was a 17-featurette looking at the main of the ‘Dark Knight Rises’ titles ‘Ending the Knight’.
• In 2012 the movie had been illegally downloaded 8.2 million times.
•As well as being released in standard form, American Sniper also came out in 3D at cinemas and in IMAX.
