Preparing tomorrow’s leaders todayThe UniSA Leadership Program offers students the opportunity to participate in a selection of programs aimed at developing leadership capabilities and enhancing employability.

UNITE ProgramAimed at undergraduate students, but open to all UniSA students

LEAD ProgramOpen to students that have previously completed UNITE or another approved leadership development program.

National Training Excellence AwardsUniSA's Leadership Program that was recognised in Sydney at the 2014 Australian Institute of Training and Development's National Training Excellence Awards.

The National Training Excellence Awards recognise outstanding excellence in learning and development and in organisational development.

Leadership Program 2014The 2014 Leadership Program saw the largest intake so far with 27 students participating in 6 Action Learning Project. Fulcrum People were again contracted as leadership consultants with a very successful Live-in Leadership Camp taking place in April at Woodhouse in the Adelaide Hills.

Five groups were formed for the Action The 2014 Leadership Program saw the largest intake so far with 27 students participating in 6 Action Learning Project. Fulcrum People were again contracted as leadership consultants with a very successful Live-in Leadership Camp taking place in April at Woodhouse in the Adelaide Hills.

Topics covered for the 2014 program included a DISC Personality Profile, Teamwork and Communication (including Belbin Team Roles), Leadership Journeys, Project Management, Reaching Consensus, Presentation skills and Conscious Leadership. The Live-In Camp was held during April at Woodhouse in the Adelaide Hills.

UniSA GamesNellie Blitz, Emma Thomson, Sally Wallz, Douglas Howard, Yinyue Qui  Developed a detailed proposal for sport and physical activities competitions and opportunities for students to participate in on Campus. Suggested a split in focus between social and competitive formats and different approaches across the separate campuses. Many of the recommendations were implemented through the UniSA Sport Sports Fix and Fitness Fix programs.

U-Buddies in Smart BuildingScott MacIntyre, Simone Purdie, Victoria Roland, Ben Trewren  Tasked to evaluate the effectiveness of the U-Buddy service in the JS Building. Found that the U-Buddy service was seen as very useful  by students and recommended the continuation of the program, particularly in peak times. Provided extensive evidence that was submitted to the building management for ongoing review of the level of service provision in the building. 

Rural Student EngagementRobert Slape, Fiona Morrison, Pierre Nkuriye, Amy Tilbrook, Elise Hutley

Investigated the needs of relocating students in an effort to make the University of South Australia the University of choice for rural and non-local students. Research was compiled from Unijam data, direct interviews and High school student concerns. Recommendations were passed on to USASA with a goal of creating a student club to share knowledge and form strong social and peer support networks.

George Street ActivationEleanor James, Rhody Gleeson, Luke Wade, Bastian Stoehr

The objective of this project was to transform George street at the City West campus into a warm and student friendly space. Leadership students created an extensive proposal of recommendations for development based on the interests, needs and existing investments of stakeholders and the community.

O-Week Smart Phone AppTim Buttery, Jiehan Ong, Xueqian Zhang, Alvin Tan

This team evaluated the UniSA O-Week app and recommended improvements based on research and observations. The O-Week app was initially developed as part of UniSA's Crossing the Horizon strategic action plan.

Reconciliation in O-Week Ali Zafar, Evana Platis, Samantha Damiani, Robert Brooke, Viera Stanekova

Developed a proposal to showcase Indigenous and Torrens Strait Islander culture during O week and Open day at UniSA. This project surveyed students to study attitudes and recommendations to appropriately display Aboriginal culture within the university and promoted an Indigenous Student Representative to connect cultural subjects with all students during this time.
