Reading Counts

Most important part of system Contains quizzes on thousands of our

library books. Students do quiz on completion of a book Indicates how well student read the book Allocates points according to length and

complexity of the book Used to set targets/goals

Management Suite

Most valuable part of the program. Provides teachers with a wide range of

information and reports about whole class or individual reading performance.

Good source of evidence for reporting.

Student attempts quiz for that bookon the computer

Student selects and reads a book in

their Lexile range

Points are added to the students

record

If the student passes

If the student fails

Student cannot do that

quiz again

How it works in the classroom

Children should borrow at least one Lexile Book when they come to the Library.

Lexile books should be part of home reading and or SSR time in the classroom.

Should be part of your class reading program.

Use Reports to set goals, create rewards, feed back for parents.
