WHAT IS STORYTELLING ?

these elements to life in the listeners’ minds and hearts.

TECHNIQUES FOR

STORYTELLING

- Begin with short sessions…- Read slowly and clearly - Make comments about the illustrations- Encourage your pupils to take part in

the storytelling- Use gestures, mime, facial gestures

- Vary the pace, tone and volume of your voice

- Pause where appropiate- Make sound effects where possible- Ask question to involve children- Do not be afraid of repeat, expand and

reformulate.
