Introduction
Capacity building is integral to producing trained labour with skills that
can help people, especially the poor, find decent living wages in the mar-
ket. Rapid technological changes require individuals to learn and polish
their skills according to local market demand.
SRSP believes in harnessing people’s potential through rigorous social
mobilization and capacity building initiatives. As a result of social mobi-
lization more than 21,000 community organizations of rural women and
men have been formed that represent about 500,000 households across
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province and the Federally Administered Tribal
Areas (FATA). Men and women community members trained as social
and technical activists are 112,000. The gender ratio stands 60:40% for
men and women respectively.
SRSP has well established and equipped Human Resource Development
Centers in different districts of KP. The main center is located in Pesha-
war, where training courses in managerial and market driven technical
skills are delivered. Training workshops are also conducted for profes-
sional staff. Special courses have been designed for promoting gender,
social equity, social cohesion and integration of women, poor, disable,
older citizens and youth in the mainstream development.
