INSTRUCTIONAL USES

should you be friends with and/or

connected with students on social media?

Lessons...• For example... Create a

hashtag ...

• #FrenchRevolution

• Takes users straight to “your own space” on Twitter..this is like having an on-line class

• Instantly becomes an on-line threaded discussion that outlasts the shelf life of that class that day

Surveys and Opinions without talking to you

• Instant results by favorites and retweets to your lessons, events and projects

Create a trend, tailored just for you/your classes.

• Gives users the ability to create movement of influence on a particular event, person, era

• Competition between classes

• Twitterpics

Relationships w/students

• 140 characters does not seem like a great deal until you see them in their own twitter world.

• Reciprocity

• Accountability

• What is really important

THE FOLLOWING...• Those who follow

• Those who have followers

• Why?

Social Media Recogntion

could you give select studentsadmin. rights to your school’s social media?
