A challenging journey of discovery… Cristina: “The project started on Sunday when, the airplane, landed in Helsinki Airport. We went to Adele Tahvainen home, in Järvenpää where we were hosted for the whole week. I gave her a gift as souvenir from Craiova. Then we had dinner with the family. After that we went to Laura’s home. We tried to get to know each other better.” Alexa: “It was difficult to accommodate at first. I was in a foreign country. I didn’t know what to do, but Jenna really helped me feel better. She was always happy and she made me happy too. I feel lucky I met her.” Stefan: “It was the first time I had flown by plane and it was an unforgettable experience. And this was just the beginning ... I arrived safely in Helsinki where we were greeted by our host families. I got home and to my surprise I felt right at home (as if I were in Romania).”

FIRST DAY SUNDAY-15-TH

And the journey begins…

The Finnish School- the school of the Future... “The second day was better because I felt more familiar with the place. The Finnish school is a real school of the future. I was amazed how well organized the learning system is. The school was clean and very colorful. Many entertaining and challenging lessons kept us busy”- ( Alexa) “We arrived at school at 8:45 where we met teachers and students. We attended the welcome ceremony for Erasmus group in the school auditorium. After that, we participated in various activities:• games in mixed groups for Erasmus group at the school gym hall presented by Ingrid Ciontescu from Romania.• lunch at the school canteen.• School tour guided by students.• art class- we decorated our own T-shirts. We were delighted.” ( Cristina) “The first day was our first encounter with the Finnish school, students and teachers who became our friends.”( Stefan)

THE SECOND DAY- MONDAY-16-TH

The home economics class brought something new in the project timetable, the cookery lesson when my colleagues and I baked Carelian pasties. The hosts showed us and it was not so hard. After school, along with others we visited the forest in the city, we had fun with our foreign friends.

THE THIRD DAY- TUESDAY-17-TH Another special Day…

“On Tuesday there were many activities and lessons organized. We conducted the theatre lesson. We were nervous on that day. For the first and the second game you needed to be imaginative. The next game called for concentration and the funniest game was the dancing game. The students who attended had a lot of fun and that was the most important thing for us. In the end we made a sketch which amused them”( Alexa and Stefan).

“At 8:45 we arrived at school where we were welcome by teachers and students. We had Finnish lesson. They tried to encourage us to learn Finnish by showing us it is not such a difficult language. After that we had a break in the school yard. At 10.00 I had my piano lesson where I tried to show everybody that playing the piano can be fun. I tried to encourage them to learn singing and playing. We played games and learnt and sang a song together. They were delighted”. After lunch I attended the drama lesson prepared by my Romanian colleagues. It was very interesting. Then, we visited photo exhibition at the school canteen, There followed the lesson by Italian students which was very educational. After that we went bowling and had dinner at Tea’s home.”( Cristina)

PIANO LESSON

After lunch we all took part in the Finnish baseball match at Auto Areena hall. It was very relaxing. At the art classroom we painted together.

The day continued with a trip to the Kerava Lake. It was beautiful and fun (we played, got into the lake and saw the sauna ) . In the evening we went out in the city. In the evening we made a barbecue with sausages and marshmallows. The food was delicious.
