a set of services that a university offers to the members
of its community for the management and
dissemina1on of digital materials created by the
ins4tu4on and its community members."

A BUSINESS MODEL?

Heinz Pampel | Osnabrück, 2 March 2011
• "Elsevier, the world-‐leading publisher of scien4fic, technical and medical
informa4on products and services, and the Robert Koch Ins4tute
announced they have entered into a two-‐year trial agreement enabling
researchers at Robert Koch Ins4tute to systema4cally post their
manuscripts in the ins4tu4onal repository.“
• " This type of agreement facilitates access to research through ins4tu4onal
repositories, helping authors, ins4tu4ons and publishers reach out to an
even wider audience,” she added. “We hope to achieve similar
agreements with other ins4tu4ons in 2011."

QUESTIONS
et al
Heinz Pampel | Osnabrück, 2 March 2011
• Who owns the copyright of my work?
• Will I break copyright if I store my work in the repository?
• Who can be held liable?
• What should I do if my publisher doesn't allow me to deposit my work
in a repository?
• Which funders have an open access policy?
• What version of the paper is under this policy?
• Will a "secondary publica4on right" change the landscape?
• Is PDF a solu4on for the digital age?
