Racism and Stereotyping in Cartoons and Comics

Controversy regrding the first ever ‘Black Princess’

The Only Black Princess!!!!

Stereotyping on the basis of Gender

Heroes Heroines

Portrayal of Sexuality and Weakness of Women Women are physically weak. The only things

they have are their ‘Beauty’ and ‘Sexuality’- 1st makes them objectified and the 2nd makes them consumable.

Racism is, even, in the world of toys….Try and find a single toy resembling

a ‘Black Baby’!!!!!!

Not a Commercial of Fair & Handsome!!!!!!!!Poverty and ‘Dark Skin’ are tied together and the opposite is portrayed as well…..

Ha Ha Ha!!!!! Look at the differences Portrayed

Though Aladin is portrayed as White, he was not so when he was poor…..

Oh I come from a land, From a faraway place

Where the Caravan camels roamWhere they Cut off your earIf they don’t like your face;

Its barbaric, but hey,Its home

Aladin 1992 : Opening song of ‘Arabian Nights’:

Native Americans or Hopi Indians

They are known as the ‘Peaceful’ people due to their non-violent

nature but their outfits are used as scary elements…..

Thank You
