INDENTITY AND BELONGING: DISCOVERING OUR ROOTS

Argentina is in the northern hemisphere of the American continent

We are in the Buenos Aires province, which has the largest population density and is the home of the city of Buenos Aires, which is the capital city of Argentina.

San Nicolás is situated in the north of the province, and it is one of the main agricultural and siderurgical producers of the area.

•It is a very rich city in terms of cultural content, shown both in the history of the country and in religion, because there is a sanctuary of the “Virgen Maria del Rosario de San Nicolas", to whom people around the world are devoted.

In 1852 the province governments joined at “CASA DEL ACUERDO” to plan the signature of the National Constitution of 1853.

The Cathedral of San Nicolas De Los Arroyos is situated in the central square. The building took 30 yearsto be completed and it holds the rank of cathedral from 1947.

•The City Theatre “Rafael de Aguiar” was opened on 10th August, 1908.

•Some workshops are conducted there: children’s theatre, poetry, drawing and painting.

•The city lies by the Parana river. It is located 240km from the capital of our country.

•The industrial concentration is greater near the Parana river, thus conforming the “industrial cordon”.

•The agricultural activity is related to the cultivation of soybeans, corn, wheat, etc; this is due to the favorable climate and fertile soil.

We attend a technical school called “Escuela de Educación Secundaria Técnica n°6" which is important due to being located in an industrial area . In general, our professional future will be found in or related to one of these industries.
