Uses of Present Simple

• Habits and routines:– I go to school everyday– I take piano classes on Saturdays– He plays football every weekend

• Feelings and things you believe:– I feel that I’m going to pass the exam– I think it is a good idea!

• True facts:– Water boils at 100 degrees– Light travels at almost 300,000 kilometres per second.

Notice that you add – S to the verb only in the 3rd person singular of the afiirmative form

Nancy and James are good friends .They speak good German. Nancy works in a restaurant downtown and James works in a library. The children play in the garden every weekend. James and Nancy visit church together every Friday.

Write the verb in the correct form of Present Simple

EXCEPTION! when we have the verb to be, we put the adverb after the verb:
