Atom• An atom is like a solar system only in

unimaginable size that cannot be seen even by a microscope. It also works like our solar system does. Negatively charged electrons orbit around the nucleus just like the planets orbit around the sun.

Molecule

• A molecule is actually made of atoms. It takes two or more atoms bonded together to make a molecule. A molecule looks like a galaxy because it’s a cluster of atoms just like a galaxy is a cluster of stars.

Cell

• A cell is a bunch of molecules that come together in a microscopic size in order to do a job. This job keeps the organism it’s inside alive. A cell is similar to a human. It eats and lives just like a human does.

Human

• A human is the size of an atom compared to our galaxy. The Earth is our molecule. Our galaxy is so huge that we may be even smaller than an atom when compared to it!

Earth• The Earth to the galaxy is like an atom to a

molecule. It’s just another atom floating in the galaxy because the galaxy is made up of billions of stars. The stars are just like atoms in terms of size. The Earth is actually small as planets go.

Our Solar System

• Our Solar System is a molecule next to the size of the Milky Way. Even though our solar system is made up of planets and stars, all of that is nothing compared to the billions of stars in the galaxy.

Galaxy• Our galaxy is unimaginably huge

compared to our planet. It’s made up of so many stars that it may be even bigger than that! The Galaxy to the Earth is like an atom to a human.

Nicolaus Copernicus

• He theorized that the sun was the center of the solar system. No one believed him. They all thought that Earth was. He couldn’t possibly live to see when his theory was finally proved.

Albert Einstein• His famous equation E=m means energy

equals mass times the velocity of light squared. His theory of relativity is encased in this equation. It means that only relative motion can be measured.

Galileo Galilei• When he heard that a spy glass had been

invented he made a telescope that is just as strong as modern day field glass. In the same year he built another telescope twenty times stronger than the first.

Charles Darwin

• He theorized that evolution does happen and that it takes millions of years. As well as the fact that all species came from one original life form from a process called speciation.

Edwin Hubble

• He proved that there are other galaxies and that they move away from each other as the universe expands. This even startled Einstein. The famous Hubble telescope was named in his honor.
