About Me…

About Me…• Passion is what makes me, ME!And I have many passions• I am passionate about teaching

elementary. Reaching kids before they get to closed minded, so that I can instill in them a life long passion for learning!

• I am Passionate about Photography and capturing those moments that pass us by

• I am passionate about technology and utilizing that the improve my students and my own learning. ie. our classroom website.

• I am passionate about stories in any medium oral, books, films, games etc …

• I am also passionate about my family and my wife and not necessarily in that order.

My Philosophy of Teaching

My philosophy envisions teaching myself out of a job!

By the end of the year I want to see my students have the classroom routines and classroom

management standards memorized and a passion for learning that if for some unforeseen

circumstance I was away students would continue their routines and keep learning even without me.

Education• 1999 Woodlands Secondary School Graduate• Achievements: English 12 honours

• 2009 Vancouver Island University Graduate • Achievements: Major in Liberal Studies & Minor in

English

• My education is always continuing as I love learningI am currently in The education degree program at VIU where there is so much to learn about teaching.

I have a practicum at Rutherford Elementary where I have learned so much from the teachers and the students.

I take photography courses every summer in order to become a wedding photographer .

Field/Work Experience

2001- 2003 Volunteer at Nanaimo Therapeutic RidingResponsibilities: Helping physically and mentally

challenged youth ride horses

2005 – present Futureshop Nanaimo Responsibilities Teaching new staff and customers how

to use cameras, Selling digital cameras and equipment

2009-2010 Student Teacher at Rutherford Elementary in Nanaimo B.C.

Specialty Areas• Working at Futureshop for 5 years and completing one year of

computer science has given me a specialty in utilizing Technology for Education

science with dramatic flash animations, videos, olympic events to inspire writing and math numbers from scores to perform questions with.
