How to make a simple Tarpaulin in

Adobe Photoshop CS6?

Step 1. Open Photoshop, click "File" and select "New." Type "Tarp" into the

"Name" box. Type your preferred tarpaulin dimensions, such as eight by 24

inches. Click the "Color Mode" menu and select "RGB Color." Click the

"Background Contents" menu and select "Transparent," which will allow you to

place your tarpaulin on any colored background as preferred. Click the "OK"

button to open the Photoshop workspace.

Step 2. Go to File and click Place…

then select image background

Step 3. ..Resize the image and click the

…shortcut for transform Ctrl + T

Step 4. Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" on the "Tools" palette. Select

a font, size and color from the toolbar at the top of the page. Choose a text

color that will contrast with the tarp color so the words will be easy to read.

Step 5. Click the active text layer, press Ctrl + T to resize the text

and then click the check mark...

Step 6a. Adding stroke to your text, click “fx” and choose blending option...

Double click the stroke and set change the color and size…

Step 6b. You can also choose Color Overlay , Gradient Overlay and Outer

Glow and others to add some effects

Step 7. To add image, repeat steps 3 and 4

and to add text repeat steps 5 to 8

Step 8. Click the "File" menu and select

"Save As." Select “JPEG”, "GIF“, or

TIFF” from the "Format" menu and save

the tarp file to the computer.
