Once, New Year’s Eve, the prefect of Caesarea wanted to raise taxes on residents.

So he asked their jewelry because people's money was few.

Santa, who was bishop of the city, concentrated them all and went to deliver. But he managed to convince the prefect not to take them.

So he needed to return the jewelry to everyone without causing discord. And how to do that since he did not remember each possessor? So he made sweet pies and within each one, put a jewel.

Santa Claus in going to share the New Year’s cake.

Pies handed out to the people and miraculously, everyone has his own jewelry.

From then the cake was custom of New Year and do the same today.
