RIVASWe are in the centre of Spain.40º Noth, the same as Thesaloniki.

RIVAS600 meters over the sea level.

NATUREWe live surrounded for two rivers:

Jarama and Manzanares (the river wich also crosses the Capital –Madrid-).And we have 28 lakes around us.

The Regional Park of the South-Est of Madrid

NATURE50 Kilometres far away we have a bigger conservation area:The National Park of Sierra de Guadarrama

NATUREThe condition of The Natural Park is achieved as a result of being a IBA (Importan Bird Area)

LAKESThe lakes are the result of a human intervention on lands owed to mining activities.

HILLThe City is not lacated on this foaded áreas but over some adjoining hills.We have a higest part.

GYPSUMThe higest part is formed by gypsum, a sedimentary rock whith wchich we produce plaster

GYPSUMThis comforms a roght soil, very hard, in wich just some few adapted plants can grow-up

CLIFFSThe rives eroded the gypsum and comform cliffs that we call “cortados”

PLANTSSo we have some endemic plants as well as another ones, very adapted

PLANTSPrincipal Woods are pine Woods from reforestation in the sixties.

LEISURESo we have a nice nature and we love and enjoy it.It is our way of living.
