DEFINATION AND EXAMPLES

ANALOGUE: It’s a traditional media which refers to physical data. It doesn't involve processing numbers electronically.

Digital is any media converted from waves into codes, Its stores, transmit and transformed data into numbers.

Are the collective communication outlets or tools that are used to store and deliver information or data. The main means of mass communication like; radio and television, newspapers, and magazines, that reach or influence people widely.

SECTORS

Sector refers to the different industries creating media products. They include: Film, TV, Audio, Publishing, Games, Websites.

PLATFORMS

It’s the means by which the media is distributed. Egs. TV, Cinema, Digital Download, Radio, CD, Online, DVD.

DEVICES

It’s the way that the media product can be accessed (watched/consumed) Egs. Mobile, TV, Phone, Computer, Games console.

BROADCAST

Refers to a wide range of different communication methods. Examples are; TV, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines.

SYNERGY

It’s refers to the way Media makes links across sectors to co-promote products. Examples are; Disney & computer Games, Heat & Big Brother.

WHY HIGH LEVELS OF OVERLAP/CONVERGENCE?

It’s because the digital media give easy access and everyone one claiming ownership of others peoples works. Example through Google.
