Prior Technology Prerequisites

use Glogster EDU.Teacher will need to add students to

their account by adding a class.Disadvantage: Students must be at least

13 years old or have consent to use.

Introduction

The lesson begins with a WebQuest which has been placed into a glog page.

It introduces the problem/asking students for help?

Videos: Help students brainstorm real-world examples of how students and adults use math.

Explore

Online resources are linked into glog page to provide examples of how math is used in the real world.

Examples: math in sports and math in movies

Give students time to explore on Internet, books, etc.

The Task

Explains to the students what they have to complete for their lesson.

Requirements for presentation: 5 specific examples Graphics Pictures (images) Videos (SchoolTube) Sound Text with explanation of how their examples use

math.

Conclusion

Students will then need to share their glogs with classmates.

Peers can add comments and provide feedback to their peers.

Begin to brainstorm ways Geometry is used or seen in our environment.

Advantage: Teacher/students feedback through instant messaging.

Prior Knowledge for Geometry

Introduction

Students will begin by making a comic strip using Chogger to define vocabulary words.

Check for Understanding

Final Task

Students will use a flip camera to capture 10 items in or around school that have angles or lines in them (watch example video).

Students will then upload pictures to their glog page and use text to explain their relationship to Geometry.

Conclusion

Students will then need to share their glogs with classmates.
