Situation

Mangrove swamps are found along tropical seacoasts on both sides of the equator.

Climate

Mangroves are wet forest with roots submerged in the water.

There are numerous species and provide protection against strong winds, waves caused by hurricanes and even tsunamis.

Flora

Flora in the mangroves can measure up to 15 m in height. Some species are:

Avicennia germinans

Laguncularia racemosa

Rhizophora mangle

Fauna

spider monkey

sea turtle

Caiman crocodilus fuscus

There are some animals that are endangered species due to the irrational hunt: lizards, manatee and several species of turtles
