• YOU WILL also learn about Tsotsi in more detail.

HIGHLIGHT and PLANTask 1) – 3 minutes
YOU MUST complete the 2 stages above and determine HOW you would answer a question like this based on what you have learnt about Tsotsi so far.YOU SHOULD try and think of AT LEAST x1 example that conforms to the key words highlighted.Extension – YOU COULD plan on referring to MORE THAN x1 example
EXPLAIN and DEVELOPTask 2) – 15 minutes
YOU MUST watch the x2 scenes from TSOTSI and determine – through the Director commentary – HOW “stylistic choices” were made in order to create “meanings” for the spectator.YOU SHOULD write down anything that Gavin Hood says that would help answer this question and then draw upon the Film Language (Mise-en-scene, Cinematography, Sound etc.) represented in the text.Extension – YOU COULD make brief comparisons to other scenes from the text.
Answer the Question
YOU MUST write a PEA Paragraph on ONE of the “stylistic choices” made by Gavin Hood
and explain what meanings they convey (present) to the spectator.YOU SHOULD ensure you have x1 example of “Evidence” to support your “Point”, then“Analyse” the impact on the spectator.
