About Tahoe Expedition Academy

History & Vision

• Pre-Kindergarten through 11th grade • Founded in 2011• Modeled on Expeditionary learning

(derived from Outward Bound)• College Preparatory• Accredited by Western Association

of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

Currently 125 Students in PreK - 10th Grade • Plans to ultimately accommodate 270 students (preK

- 12th)

Outgrown Existing Facilities• In contract with the Martis Fund for 42 acres off

Schaffer Mill Road

Funding• Martis Valley Education Foundation established for

purpose of funding the school• Raised $15 million to date

Financial Aid• 1/3 of families receive financial support

teacher ratio• Character education focused• Community involvement and service
