YOUTH COURTStudents if you are interested in being a youth court volunteer, -pick up a application from Mr. Trice in the Guidance Office.

Youth court volunteers will prosecute, defend and serve as bailiffs and jurors in a real sentencing hearing of juvenile offenders in Shelby County.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE………..Congratulations Overton High Orchestra Students -Journey Hogan, Jerald Walker and Kenneth Gillespie. Out of 5,500 hopefuls they have been selected to travel and perform at New York City’s Carnegie Hall (High School Honor’s Performance Series). They have also won spots in TN. All West & All State Orchestra.

OHS PRIDE

OHS Pride will hold weekly meetings every Monday from 3:15pm – 4:15pm. Come and join to be apart of an accepting environment. While discussing LGBT related issues and working on related projects.

FHAO STUDENT LEADERSHIP GROUPThe FHAO Leadership Group would like to invite students grades 9 – 12 to join them on their upcoming field trip to Washington, D.C. This will be a great way to spend your Spring Break. For details on the trip, please see Ms. Mosby or Dr. Taylor.

OVERTON HIGH LEADERSHIP COUNCILAbsences due to pre-approved college visits will not count against seniors for exam exemptions. Seniors must have approval from their professional school counselor prior to the college visit and must submit documentation of visit upon returning.

SOFTBALLAttention all ladies interested in playing softball: There is an informational meeting on Tuesday, January 12 at 2:30pm in Mrs. Mosby’s Room – 223.

P.O.W. CLUBThe P.O.W. Club will meet Thursday, January 14 at 2:30pm in Room 111. We will be discussing our upcoming fundraiser – please make plans to attend unless you have an 8th hour class. Students who miss due to other obligations, plan to see Mrs. Mitchell or Mrs. Mabry for meeting details.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETYAll NHS Candidates:National Honor Society Candidate interviews will take place on January 13, 2016 in Room 520 (Piano Lab). Please dress to impress.
