PHILOSOPHICAL VIEW

CASE #1

CASE #1Hi, I have a degree in

Communal Services, with a minorin Humanities. It’s pretty hard tofind a decent job, though. Thereshould be more governmental jobsfor people like me, because we canmake the world a better place.

CASE #1

I also think the government shouldset up community centers in everyneighborhood to help the poor andhomeless. Human rights trumpeverything else.

CASE #1All people are basically good at

heart. Those who make mistakesin society should not beincarcerated. Everyone is capableof being rehabilitated, to bring outthe good that is just hidden inside.

CASE #1

If there were a God, he’d neverpunish anybody. He would loveeverybody, and there would be nosuffering or pain.

CASE #1

My main allegiance is to ourenvironment. I am committed todoing anything and everything tosave our great Mother Earth fromthe effects of climate change.

CASE #1We should be able to develop

new sources of energy, besides oiland coal that are usedworldwide. People are nothingmore than misguided animals, which don’t have enough sense tostop polluting the planet.

CASE #1

If there were good feelings all over the world, there would be peace on earth. Reality is just a product of the combined human will, and all truth is relative.

CASE #1All we have to do is desire and

choose peace and prosperity. It will happen; it is the progressive way. If we all do this, we can change the entire world from a dystopia into a utopia. Yes we can!

IDEALISM

MEANING

is when a behavior or thought is

based on a conception of things as they should be, or as one

would wish them to be, with a

tendency to be imaginary or visionary

AIM

Teach the readers how to think by stimulating

their minds and not by

conveying the information directly.

STATEMENT

“Ideas are the only true reality”

RELATION TO VALUES FORMATION

Idealist people focus on the goodness of every

individual. Also, this helps one

to focus on what is moral and what is right by using

the perspective of an idealist.

CASE #2

CASE #2

Hi, I have a degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Combined Sciences(Physics, Chemistry, & Biology). I went toprofessional school, got a job immediatelythereafter, and stuck with it until I retiredearly, saving my money and makinginvestments along the way.

CASE #2

Small businesses are thefoundation of our nation’seconomy, and the governmentshould keep its hands out ofbusinesses and the private sector.Government is not “God.”

CASE #2He alone has the authority to

direct human affairs, and He aloneis worthy to run things as Hewishes. The human heart is evil, isdeceitful above all things, and isbeyond cure (Ecclesiastes9:3; Jeremiah 17:9).

CASE #2Most persistent, hard-core

criminals are incorrigible. It is theresponsibility of government toprotect its citizens against repeatlaw offenders by locking them upor, in some cases, ending theirlives.

CASE #2God allows evil and iniquity in

the world for a reason; but Heprovides capable, humble leadersto protect those who revere andvenerate Him, if people are smartenough to vote these people intooffice.

CASE #2This Creation has a life span

built into it, by God. The presentuniverse and earth, inevitably, aregoing to decay and deteriorate, and we cannot change that. Godcreated all things, and life is sacredto Him.

CASE #2He will not abandon us before

we use up all the natural resourcesthat He wisely and plentifullyinfused into the earth when Hecreated it. Jesus will return beforewe have exhausted our energysupplies.

CASE #2

It is foolish to “play God.” Only God is God, and no mortal person, society, or government ever will attain the status of “godhood.”

CASE #2The world is in a big mess,

mainly because of human greed, envy, corruption, and disobedience of God. We all are born with a sin nature, and only God can save us from our sins.

CASE #2God, alone, is the only genuine

reality and truth. Jesus, the coming Messiah, is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). True peace and happiness can, and will, come only through Him.

CASE #2

Nothing is possible without Him, since all things in the universe were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:15,16; Hebrews 1:2). Come soon, Lord Jesus!
