What is HRS?

• Human Resource System (HRS) refers to the systems and processes at the intersection between human resource management and information technology.

Purpose/ Use

• Consists of tracking existing employee data which traditionally includes personal histories, skills, capabilities, accomplishments and salary.

• To reduce the manual workload of these administrative activities, organizations began to electronically automate many of these processes.

• Serves to help store the data electronically to a database and with various software, most manual workload are now automated by the HRS.

HRS includes the following modules:

1. Payrolls

2. Work Time

3. Benefits Administration

4. HR management Information system

5. Recruiting

6. Training/ Learning Management System

Payroll• Automates the pay process from the data

gathered on an employee's work hours, attendance, calculating various deductions from tardiness, payment of income taxes, printing pay checks and establishing payroll reports.

Work Time

• Gathers standardized time and work related efforts.

• The most advanced modules provide broad flexibility in data collection methods, labour distribution capabilities and data analysis features.

Benefit Administration

• Provides HR personnel with the capacity to monitor and manage employee participation in a range of benefit programs.

• These programs can range from programs related to the wellbeing of the workforce and profit making programs.

Recruitment

• Refers to the process of sourcing, screening, and selecting people for a job at an organization or firm, or for a vacancy in a volunteer-based organization or community group.

• companies often retain professional recruiters or outsource some of the process to recruitment agencies.

Training

• provides a system for organizations to administer and track employee training and development efforts.

• allows HR to track education, qualifications and skills of the employees, as well as outlining what training courses, books, CDs, web based learning or materials are available to develop which skills.
