Hermes at Escola La Bòbila!

Diary

November 2013 – February 2014

During the first term Hermes has been working really hard. He has been travelling around the whole school, visiting different classrooms with

several children aged between 3 and 12. Here he is in an Arts and Craft lesson, joining 3rd grade of primary, our seven years old children.

He has also been exercising! Here you can see Hermes with the 4 year olds, at the gym, in a quite exhaustive PE session!

Here is Hermes at the Science Classroom. He is helping the children of 5th grade while they are doing their experiments.

Christmas time soon arrived, and Hermes got mixed up with all the presents under the Christmas tree. Brezo also taught him to say Merry Christmas in

Catalan: “Bon Nadal!”

Beginning with the Feast of the Immaculate Conception

(December 8), one gives the Tió a little bit to "eat" every night and usually covers him with a little

blanket so that he will not be cold at night.

Usually on Christmas Eve, one hits the Tió with sticks, while

singing various songs of Tió de Nadal or carols.

The tradition says that before beating the Tió all the kids have

to leave the room and go to another place of the house to

pray asking for the Tió to deliver a lot of presents. This makes the

perfect excuse for the relatives to do the trick and put the presents under the blanket while the kids

are praying.

Hermes has also been taking some music lessons! The second graders love him!

The youngest children of the school, our 3 year olds, have also had lots of fun with Hermes in the library and the Little Prince!

Story Time!

See how Hermes waters our crops!
