Ashwini Charitable Trust (ACT)

Student Portraits

16 yrs old. wants to become a fashion designer. She’s good at drawing.

Her father is a tailor. Wants to be able to think differently. When asked

to divide her day (10hours) : 3 hours fashion design, 3 hours

photography, 4 hours with friends. She teaches young kids at the centre

as well

17 yrs old. been at ACT for 7 yrs. She wants to be a lawyer. She’s

currently doing her 2nd PUC. She Teaches young kids. She joined this

class so can take photos of crime and terrorists. Wants to continue

taking photos after the workshop. When asked to divide her day: 2

hours movie/ serial, 3 hours studying law, 3 hours friends, 2 hours

photography. If she was given a choice between law class and photo

assignment, she would choose law class.

Showed interest. she wants to learn photography so she can capture

events. Will be interested if given an assignment. Is happy when the

photo is nice. 19 yrs old ...wants to become a teacher in a Montessori

school. Will get a camera if her brother buys one...She shoots with

friends...prefers being a teacher over photographer.

Would like to choose photography. When asked to divide her day doing

different activities- 3 hours with friends, 3 hours family, 4 hours photography.

She spends 2 hours shooting every alternate day during the week. Will finish

her education with Arts

15 yrs. Wants to become teacher- teach English. She Joined the

workshop because she was interested in the camera and saw the

camera for the 1st time at the trust. Says she shoots once in 2 days.

She currently in the 9th standard.

10 yrs at ACT. turning 19 and currently pursuing her Bcom. She wants to

do an MBA in finance and wants to become a bank manager. She says

she enjoys shooting, so far she has gone out and shot because of the

assignments but scared to go shoot alone. When asked to divide her day:

3 and a half hours movie, accounts class 3 hours, photography- 2 hours,

1 and a half friends. When asked whether she wanted to pursue

photography - says not sure..she's not sure what she's interested in

18 yrs and wants to become housekeeper at a hotel. She wanted to learn

photography and loves to come to class. When asked to divide her day: 3

and a half hours in the hospitality industry, 4 hours friends, 2 and a half

hours photography.

17 yrs. took this class cause she likes to take photos. She started taking

photos a yr ago. She says she is interested in clicking photos. Revathi

says she will work and get her own camera if given an assignment.

16 yrs. interest in photography started at the centre when she was given

the camera to take photos. hasn't decided what she wants to become but

might be interested in banking. When asked to divide her day : 3 hours

with friends, 3 hours photography, 1 hour tv, 3hours accounts or maths.

She joined the workshop because she wanted to learn new techniques

18 yrs. Hasn’t decided what he wants to become. He is currently going

to 2nd PUC- commerce but wants to become a computer engineer so

he can make money. Wants to take photos at functions. Asked to

make a choice between spending money on a family holiday and

camera would choose it spend it on his family.

Got a job at StanC. interested in photography, dancing. took this

workshop because she was interested. if given a choice to divide her day

between different activities she would choose: Banking 4 hrs, dancing 3

hours, friends 2 hours, photography 1 hour. if given an assignment, she

will take it up. Prefers dance over photography. Shot every day and spent

1 and a half hours shooting. Went to ulsoor lake, russel market, mg road t

make photos. will continue taking photos after the workshop. Found

theory boring, and enjoyed making photos.

14 yrs. been at ACT for 3 yrs. He wants to become an Artist. Loves

painting with water colours. When asked to divide his day, he chose: 3 hr

cricket, photography 2 hr, painting 3 hours, friends 2 hours. He likes to

take photos wants to be able to take good photos at function. He would

choose painting and spending time with friends if he has to pick 2.
