Flat Laila! What are you doing here!? I was not expecting you! Did you have a good trip? Welcome to Tennessee!

Here’s my home in Henry County Tennessee. I am so glad you are here!

Let’s start in Nashville, TN for a tour. GREAT idea to rent one of the City Bikes, Laila! I like the way you think!

First, let’s visit the Parthenon.

You’re right, Laila! It is huge! It is an exact replica of the one in Ancient Greece, but it is right here in Nashville, Tennessee. Inside, there is a 40’ statue of Athena, Greek Goddess of wisdom, courage, and justice. She’s a big one!

What a great idea to ride to the Farmer’s Market for lunch. We can also shop for some healthy fruits and vegetables. You are a very smart little lady!

Those are some spicy looking tacos. Are you sure you can eat that? Watch out! Don’t step in the refried beans!

Oh my goodness, Flat Laila! You are being so corny! That looks like fun!

Off to the Bicentennial Mall to see our Tennessee State Flag!

And the fountain! Too bad you did not bring your bathing suit. Tennessee kids love to play in that fountain!

Here’s our State Capitol. I wish we had time to go in it for a tour today.

Let’s return the bikes and head home. Buckle up! Safety first! ALWAYS!

You’re right, Flat Laila, that building does look like Batman. In fact, that’s what people call it all over the state! This is downtown Nashville and lower Broadway. Many country music stars got their first jobs here and still visit.

That did not take long. Paris, TN. Home of the World’s Biggest Fish Fry.

Every year, for one week, the town celebrates by cooking 5 tons of catfish to feed thousands of visitors. There’s also a parade, a rodeo, a fishing tournament, several dances, and even catfish races! (The race winning fish is famous for the week and his or her picture is on the front page of the newspaper. Whoa!)

Paris has a nice historic downtown. There’s another fountain! Gosh, I wish you had your bathing suit!

Paris, TN also has its very own Eiffel Tower. Built 1/22 to scale of the real tower in Paris, France. You’re right, Flat Laila! That is neat and would be fun to climb. Some of my students have done that! Speaking of students, let’s visit my class!

My Henry County High School students always love guests. Thanks for helping them turn the pages on their book today, Flat Laila! Reading is so important. Reading is also fun! Read! Read! Read! Reading a book can take you everywhere without ever leaving your home.

Thanks for helping me take attendance too, Flat Laila! Being a teacher is hard but rewarding work! Where are

all my students? Probably in the fountain! We had better wrap this day up. You have a big trip tomorrow!
